Description
This compatible microphone replaces the built-in microphone of the Surface Pro 7 (2019). It picks up your voice during calls, video recordings and voice commands. When it is faulty, you may notice a muffled or missing voice, callers who cannot hear you, or background noise during video conferences.
Before you start, switch the tablet off completely, unplug the charger and prepare a clean, well-lit workspace. Use suitable tools so you do not damage the clips and connectors. The microphone is linked to the motherboard by a thin ribbon cable: disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon and avoid bending it.
Once the fitting is complete, check the function with a test recording and a video call before closing the device fully. If the current battery shows swelling nearby, stop using the tablet and do not attempt to repair it yourself.
Tips
- Switch off the tablet and unplug the charger before any work
- Disconnect the battery before handling the ribbon cable
- Do not puncture or bend the lithium battery
- Protect the components from static electricity
- Test the microphone with a recording before closing the device
