Description
This compatible microphone replaces the built-in microphone of your Surface Pro 3 (2014). It restores voice pickup during video calls, recordings and voice commands. If your caller can no longer hear you, the sound is muffled or the microphone no longer appears in the settings, the current part is most likely the cause.
Before you begin, switch off the tablet completely and unplug the charger. Work on a clean, flat surface, using tools suited to the small Surface screws. Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, and avoid bending or forcing the delicate connectors. Use an anti-static wristband or regularly touch a metal surface to discharge static electricity. If the battery is swollen, do not continue the repair.
After fitting, check the microphone works in the Windows audio settings, then make a test call or record a few seconds of your voice. Also make sure the cover is properly closed and the screws are tightened without excessive force.
