Description
The microphone is the small component that picks up your voice during calls, voice messages and recordings. When it fails, the person you are speaking to hears you poorly, with crackling, or not at all. This part, compatible with the Z10 model, replaces a worn or damaged microphone, especially after a fall, contact with water or a blocked opening.
Before you begin, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean, flat surface with a tray to store the screws. Use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch a metal surface to avoid static discharges, which can destroy components. Handle the ribbon cables gently, without bending or pulling them.
After reassembly, check that it works before fully closing the casing: make a test call, record a voice message and listen to the result. If the battery was disconnected, let the device go through a few full charge cycles so that it returns to normal operation. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and do not use a swollen battery.
