Description
The iris scanner module is the component that lets Galaxy Note 9 unlock by iris recognition. It contains an infrared camera and a small sensor that analyse the pattern of the eye. When it stops working, the biometric unlock function is often unavailable, even though the phone can still be used with a passcode.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It is the most economical option for putting the iris scanner function of Galaxy Note 9 back into service. After replacement, recognition must be set up again in the security settings, by registering both eyes again in normal lighting.
Before fitting, switch off the device and disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it, to avoid any short circuit. Handle the module by its edges, protected from static electricity, and avoid touching the lens. Then check that the camera is firmly fixed, with no strain on the ribbon cable, and test the recognition before closing the casing completely.
