Description
The holding jig is a tool used to clamp a device or a component in place during a repair. It steadies the part you are working on, for example when replacing a screen, a battery or a flex cable. By keeping the part firmly in position, it limits movement and reduces the risk of breaking a connector or bending a chassis.
This tool is compatible with all models. It is a third-party manufacture, of compatible quality. Before using it, work on a flat, clean surface and keep the small screws in a tray so they do not get lost. Check that the device is switched off and the battery is disconnected before handling any flex cables.
After assembly, check that the part does not move and that nothing is trapped. For a new battery, carry out a few full charge cycles before judging the result. Avoid forcing, bending or puncturing a lithium battery, and never use a swollen battery.
Tips
- Work on a flat, clean and well-lit surface
- Disconnect the battery before handling the flex cables
- Keep the small screws in a tray so they do not get lost
- Never force connectors or clips
- Do not use a swollen, punctured or bent battery
Fitting
