Description
This motherboard flex cable is a spare part for the Velvet model, US version. It connects the motherboard to the circuits in the lower part of the device and ensures signal transmission between the components. When it is faulty, it can cause intermittent failures, difficult starting, unexpected shutdowns or abnormal behaviour of some functions. This type of problem often appears after a fall, repeated pressure or natural wear of the cable.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, clear surface with anti-static tools, and keep the small screws in a precise order. Handle the flex cable by its edges, without bending it or pulling on the cable, and take the time to release the connectors fully before removing them.
After fitting, check that the connectors are correctly positioned and that the screws are tightened before powering the device back on. Then test the functions concerned by the repair. If the device shows unusual heat or an unusual smell, stop immediately.
