The left hinge flex cable for Surface Pro 5 (2017) is a flexible cable that connects the device's motherboard to the display and to certain components located in the hinge area. It carries the display signals as the lid opens and closes, so it is subjected to repeated mechanical stress over time.
When this cable is worn, bent or damaged, you may notice symptoms such as a flickering screen, black areas, a distorted image or a screen that stops responding depending on the lid position. This part is a compatible version made by a third party, which replaces the current part.
