Description
This compatible front camera replaces the front camera module of the Surface Pro 3 (2014), the one used for video conferencing, video calls and facial recognition when the device supports it. If the image is blurry, dark or missing, or if the camera is no longer detected, the current part may be the cause and replacing it may solve the problem.
Before you begin, switch off the tablet completely and unplug the charger. Work on a clean, flat surface, protected from static electricity, with a suitable screwdriver and a small plastic tool to release the tabs without forcing them. Disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables, and avoid bending the delicate connectors. Take photos of the connections before dismantling, as this makes reassembly easier.
Once the module is installed and the device is closed, switch the tablet back on and check in the camera app and then in a video conference that the image and sound work properly. If not, reopen it and check the ribbon cable connection before concluding.
