Description
The Pixel 9 flex cable is a flexible cable that connects a board or internal component of the device to the motherboard. It carries the signals and power needed for the function it serves to work properly. When it is worn, bent or poorly connected, the device may show intermittent faults, the affected area may stop responding or operation may cut out.
This part is compatible with the Pixel 9 model. It is a third-party manufacture, offered as an economical alternative for a careful repair. Before any work, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, clear surface. Static electricity can damage components: touch an earthed metal surface before handling the cable.
After fitting, check that the connectors are firmly clicked in without forcing them, then refit the screws without overtightening. Switch the device back on and test the function concerned before fully closing the casing. If the battery was disconnected, carry out a few full charge cycles to stabilise the whole system.
Tips
- Disconnect the battery before touching the flex cable.
- Do not bend the cable and avoid forcing it during fitting.
- Work without static electricity: touch a metal ground.
- Check that the connectors are properly clicked in before closing up.
- A swollen battery must no longer be used; do not puncture it.
