Description
The proximity sensor flex cable is a small flexible circuit that combines the display's proximity sensor and its associated connections. On the Realme GT Master, it lets the screen switch off during a call when you bring the phone to your ear, then switch back on when you move it away. When it is faulty, the screen may stay black during calls, stop responding to touch near the ear, or switch off for no reason.
Before you start, switch off the device and disconnect the battery where possible, to avoid short circuits and protect the flex cables. Work on a clean surface, use a plastic tool to lift the connectors, and avoid static electricity by touching an earthed metal surface first. Do not bend the flex cable, as it breaks easily.
Once fitting is complete, check the function with a test call, bringing the phone to your ear and moving it away. Also make sure the touchscreen responds correctly. This part is compatible and made by a third party: if the behaviour does not return to normal, check that the connectors are correctly seated before drawing conclusions.
