Description
The proximity sensor flex cable Redmi Note 9 Pro is a small flexible circuit that connects the device's proximity sensor to the motherboard. This sensor detects when you bring the phone to your ear during a call and then switches off the screen to prevent accidental touches. When it stops working, the screen stays on during calls, switches off erratically, or the automatic brightness no longer responds properly.
This is a compatible part, made by a third party. It replaces the current part without altering the rest of the device. Before you start, switch off the Redmi Note 9 Pro, disconnect the battery if the flex cable is accessible beneath it, and work on a clean, flat surface. Use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch a metal surface to discharge static electricity, which can damage components.
After fitting, switch the device back on and test the sensor by passing your hand over the top of the screen during a call or a test connection. Also check that automatic brightness and the other sensors work correctly. If the part is supplied with a battery, never puncture it, never bend it, and do not use a swollen battery.

- Never force the connectors: they lock in with little pressure.
- Test the proximity sensor during a call before reassembling.
- A swollen battery must no longer be used: do not puncture it.
