Description

This Dot Projector flex cable is a repair tool for the iPhone XS. It connects the dot projector module, used by the facial recognition system, to the device's logic board. It is compatible with the model indicated and comes from a third-party manufacturer. It is used to replace a damaged flex cable or to carry out tests during a repair.

The Dot Projector module may stop working because of a damaged flex cable, a faulty connection or an impact. In this case, facial recognition may be unavailable or an error message may appear. Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery. Work on a clean surface free from static electricity, with an anti-static mat if possible, and use a suitable tool so you do not force the connectors.

After fitting, check that the connector is properly seated and that the flex cable has no creases. Reconnect the battery, then check that facial recognition works in the settings. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and do not puncture or bend it.
