Description
The home button flex cable is the small flexible circuit that connects the home button of iPhone 6 Plus to the device's motherboard. It carries the button presses and, depending on its design, is involved in fingerprint recognition or button presses. When it is faulty, the button may stop responding, become hard to press, or no longer work properly with the fingerprint sensor.
This part is a compatible flex cable made by a third party. It is an economical solution to restore the home button. Before you start, switch the device off completely, disconnect the battery if the model allows it, and work on a clean, clear surface. Flex cables are fragile: avoid bending, pulling or touching the contacts with your fingers, and protect yourself from static electricity with an anti-static wristband if possible.
After fitting, check that the button responds to every press, then test fingerprint recognition if the device has it. If the device overheats or the battery looks swollen, stop immediately and do not use it again. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery.
