Description
The LVDS ribbon cable is a flat cable that connects your device's motherboard to its screen. It carries the video signals needed to display the image. The LVDS ribbon cable MacBook Pro 15" (A1398) (2012-2015) is compatible with this model and lets you replace a damaged or faulty cable.
A damaged cable can cause a black screen, horizontal or vertical lines, distorted colours or an intermittent display. Before any replacement, make sure the device is switched off and unplugged, then remove the battery if the cable is nearby. Work on a clean surface and protect yourself from static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap or by regularly touching an earthed metal part.
After fitting, switch the device back on and check the display across the whole screen, increasing the brightness and testing several colours. Handle the connectors gently, without forcing or bending the cable. If the screen is still faulty, check that the cable is properly seated and locked.
