Description
The power flex cable One E8 is a flexible ribbon cable that connects the device's on/off button to the motherboard. It transmits the press of the power button and, depending on the model, the associated volume buttons. When the cable is worn, bent or poorly connected, the device may no longer switch on, switch off by itself or stop responding to the button. This compatible part, made by a third party, replaces the current part of your One E8.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery, starting by removing its connector from the motherboard. Work on a clean surface, with a suitable screwdriver and a plastic spudger to lift the connectors without forcing them. Note the position of each screw and each cable before dismantling. Avoid excessive heat and protect your components against static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap if possible.
After assembly, check that the button responds correctly before closing the casing. Reconnect the battery, then check the startup and the correct operation of each key. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and never puncture or bend it.
