Description
This power flex cable is the part that connects the power button and volume buttons of your OnePlus 5 to the motherboard. When it is faulty, the buttons may stop responding, the power-on may become erratic or the volume may no longer adjust. Replacing this flex cable is therefore a targeted repair to restore normal use of these physical controls.
Before you start, switch the device off completely, then disconnect the battery if your model allows it. Work on a clean surface, with a suitable screwdriver and an anti-static wrist strap if you have one. Handle the flex cable by its edges, without bending it or pulling on the cable, and check that each connector is correctly oriented before clipping it in.
Once fitting is complete, reconnect the battery and test the power button as well as both volume buttons. If a button still has no effect, recheck the connectors before drawing any conclusion. This part is a compatible product made by a third party, so a careful check after fitting is still advised.
