Description
The power / volume flex cable is a small flexible circuit that connects the side buttons of your Galaxy Note 10.1" (2012) to the motherboard. When it is worn or damaged, the power button or the volume buttons become unreliable, or stop responding altogether. This compatible part, reference N8000, lets you replace the cable without touching the rest of the device.
Before you start, switch off the Galaxy Note 10.1" (2012) completely and disconnect the battery if your model allows it, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, as static electricity can damage components. Use suitable tools, in particular a plastic spudger and precision screwdrivers, and take the time to note each screw and each connector carefully.
Once the cable is fitted, check that each button works correctly before closing the device. Make sure the connector is firmly clipped in and that the cable is neither bent nor trapped. If the battery was disconnected, reconnect it carefully and check that it shows no swelling. Never puncture the battery and do not use a device whose battery is swollen.
