Description
The power / volume flex cable for Galaxy Tab 8.9" (2011) (ref. P7300) is a small, flexible ribbon that connects the device's side buttons to the motherboard. It turns the phone on and off, adjusts the volume and, depending on the model, triggers certain functions linked to these buttons. When it is worn, bent or oxidised, the buttons can become unreliable, stop responding or stay stuck.
This part is a compatible cable made by a third party: it is not original. Before fitting, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, static-free surface. Note the exact position of the cable and its connectors before removing it, and avoid forcing the fragile tabs.
Once the cable is back in place, check each button one by one before closing the device completely. If the device refuses to start or the battery looks swollen, do not persist: stop the repair and never attempt to puncture or bend the battery.
