Description
This test cable is a diagnostic tool designed to check the working of the main flex cable of an iPhone 7 before or after a repair. It connects to the logic board in place of the usual flex cable, which lets you check certain components without taking the whole device apart. It is a compatible part, made by a third party.
It is useful for identifying the cause of a fault when the current screen, a worn battery or a button no longer responds as expected. The test helps you tell a flex cable problem apart from a fault on the logic board. Before you start, switch the device off, disconnect the battery and work on a clean surface, avoiding static electricity with an anti-static wristband if possible.
Be careful when connecting: the connectors are fragile and must not be forced. Once the test is complete, reconnect the current or new part carefully, then check that each function works. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using a swollen battery.
Tips
- Disconnect the battery before connecting or disconnecting the test cable.
- Handle the connectors gently to avoid bending them.
- Use an anti-static wristband to protect the logic board.
- Never force a connector: check its alignment first.
Fitting
Fitting guide: work with the device switched off, disconnect the battery before touching any flex cable, keep the screws in order and test the part before closing up. A question before ordering? Write to us.
