Description
This volume flex cable sits on the main board of the iPad Mini 7 (2024) device. It carries the physical volume up and down buttons and connects them to the rest of the board. When it is worn, cracked or oxidised, the buttons can become erratic: they stop responding, respond poorly or stay stuck. This part is a compatible premium version made by a high-end third party, with a performance close to the original.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before touching any cables. Work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity, with a plastic spudger and suitable small screwdrivers. Avoid excessive heat to lift glued parts and never bend the connectors.
After fitting, reconnect the battery, check that both volume buttons respond correctly in every app, then test the other functions of the board concerned. If the battery was disconnected, a few full charge cycles can help stabilise the whole system.
