Description
This volume flex cable for K7 (2016) is a compatible replacement part, designed to replace the flex cable that carries the device's volume buttons. It connects the volume controls to the motherboard. When the flex cable is worn, cut or poorly connected, the volume keys may respond sluggishly, stop responding altogether or work erratically.
This is a compatible part made by a third party: it is not presented as the device's current original part. Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery where the procedure requires it. Work on a clean surface with suitable tools, and avoid static discharge by regularly touching an earthed metal surface. Handle the flex cable by its edges, without bending it or pulling on the connectors.
After fitting, check that both volume buttons respond correctly, in both directions and across their full travel. Also make sure the cable is properly clicked in and that no neighbouring component has been moved. If the behaviour remains abnormal, switch the device off again and recheck the connection before doing anything else.
