Description
This volume flex cable is a spare part designed for the OnePlus 5 model. It carries the volume buttons and connects these controls to the device's motherboard. When it is worn, cracked or poorly connected, the volume buttons may stop responding, respond with a delay or get stuck. The phone may also display an inconsistent volume, which can come from this cable.
This is a compatible part made by a third party, offered as an economical alternative to repair. Before you begin, switch off the device, disconnect the battery where possible and work on a clean, flat surface. Use a plastic tool to open the device without forcing it, and avoid touching the connectors with your fingers. Protect the components from static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap or by touching an earthed metal surface.
After fitting, power the device back on and test each button several times, both up and down. Also check the other functions near the cable. If a battery is swollen, stop using it and never puncture or bend it.
