Description
The volume flex cable is a small, flexible circuit that connects your device's volume buttons to the motherboard. On the OnePlus 5T, it lets you raise or lower the sound using the side buttons. When these buttons stop responding, become erratic or stay stuck, the cause is often this cable, worn or disconnected.
This reference A5010 is a compatible part made by a third party: it is designed to fit the OnePlus 5T and perform the same function. Before you start, switch off the device, disconnect the battery if your model allows it, and work on a clean surface, away from static electricity. Take the time to locate the connectors carefully and avoid forcing the fragile tabs.
After fitting, check that both volume buttons work in several situations: calls, music playback, notification settings. Only switch the device back on once all components are refitted. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and never puncture it.
