Description
The volume flex cable Tribute HD is a small flexible circuit that connects your device's volume buttons to the motherboard. When it is worn, cracked or poorly connected, the buttons may respond irregularly, stop working altogether, or lock the sound level. This compatible part, reference LS676, is designed precisely to replace this faulty component when the fault comes from the side buttons rather than the speaker or battery.
Before you begin, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery when the procedure requires it, to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, as static electricity can damage the circuits. Note the position of each screw and disconnect the ribbon cables with a plastic tool rather than a metal object.
Once the fitting is complete, test the buttons several times before closing the device fully. If the battery is new or has been disconnected, carry out a few full charge cycles to let the system recalibrate. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and stop using any device whose battery is swollen.
