Description
The audio IC is an integrated circuit that manages the sound of the device. It converts digital signals into audible sound and drives the outputs to the loudspeaker, the earpiece and the microphone. This spare part, compatible with the iPhone 15 model, is referenced 338S00537. It fixes a lack of sound, distorted, crackling or weak audio, or a microphone that no longer works, without replacing the whole motherboard.
Before you start, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, dry surface. Use an antistatic wrist strap or regularly touch a metal ground to avoid electrostatic discharges, which can damage components. Heat the board as little as possible so you do not damage the neighbouring solder joints. Check the chip reference before fitting it by comparing it with the original part you removed.
After replacement, test the loudspeaker, earpiece and microphone before closing the device. A compatible part may behave slightly differently, so make a few test calls and audio playbacks. If the battery is swollen, do not use it and never puncture or bend it.
