Description
The audio IC is an integrated circuit that controls the sound of your device. It converts digital signals into audio signal and drives the speaker, the microphone and the headphone jack. This replacement part, compatible with the iPhone 16 Pro, brings sound back when it is cut out, distorted, weak or absent, without affecting the rest of the board.
The faults it fixes are often easy to recognise: complete silence during calls or playback, crackling, sound that cuts out, or a headphone jack that no longer works. Before you start, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and wear an anti-static wrist strap to protect the components. Work in a clean, well-lit place, with a suitable iron and flux. Moderate heat is enough; too high a temperature can damage the board.
After fitting, check the sound from the speaker, the microphone and the headphone jack before closing the device. If the battery was disconnected, reconnect it carefully. Never use a swollen, punctured or bent battery.
