Description
The audio IC Nintendo Switch 2 (reference ALC5658) is an integrated circuit that converts digital audio signals into analogue signals. It drives the output to the speakers and headphones, and handles the microphone input. When it is faulty, the device may stop producing sound, fail to detect headphones or produce crackling. This part is a compatible version made by a third-party manufacturer, designed to replace the current part of the Nintendo Switch 2 model.
Before you start, work on a clean, clear table, ideally with an anti-static wrist strap. Always disconnect the battery before touching the ribbon cables and components, and use suitable tools to avoid bending or scratching the circuit tracks. Handle the chip by its edges and avoid excessive heat when desoldering.
After fitting, check the audio output, speaker, headphones and microphone before closing the device. Make a few call and audio playback tests to confirm the repair.
