Description
This Nintendo Switch OLED audio IC is a compatible electronic component designed to replace the chip that handles your device's sound. It converts and amplifies audio signals, meaning what you hear through the speaker, earpiece and microphone. When it fails, you often notice no sound or distorted sound, crackling, a silent microphone or an audio output that no longer works, while the rest of the device starts normally.
Replacing this chip requires good soldering skills, a suitable hot air station and a binocular microscope to work on very fine tracks. Before any work, disconnect the battery and move it away from the work area. Protect neighbouring components from heat, wear an anti-static wrist strap and heat gradually to avoid lifting the tracks off the board.
After fitting, check the solder joints carefully under the microscope, clean off residual flux and check there is no short circuit before powering the device back on. Then run full tests: speaker, earpiece, microphone and calls.
