Description
The MAX77693 power IC is an integrated circuit that manages charging and power distribution in certain devices such as the Galaxy Note 2. It monitors battery charging and supplies the various components of the motherboard. When it is faulty, the device may no longer charge, switch off for no reason or refuse to start even though the battery is in good condition.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It does not carry the brand of the current part and should be checked carefully before use. For the Galaxy Note 2, make sure the reference matches your board before ordering.
Before any disassembly, switch off the device, unplug the charger and remove the battery if the design allows it. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static wrist strap to protect the components. Never puncture or bend a lithium battery, and do not use a swollen battery. After reassembly, connect the charger and let the device complete a few full charge cycles to check its behaviour.
