Description
The power IC Galaxy Note 3 (ref. PM8941) is an integrated circuit that manages the distribution of electrical power inside the device. It receives current from the battery and distributes it to the various components, adapting the voltages each part needs. When it no longer works properly, the device may fail to start, switch off for no reason, stop charging or show irregular electrical behaviour.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third-party manufacturer. It is an economical solution for repairing a Galaxy Note 3 when the fault really comes from this component. Before you start, switch off the device, unplug the charger and remove the battery. Work on a clean surface in a well-lit place, and protect yourself against static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap or by regularly touching a metal ground.
After fitting, check the operation before fully closing the device. For a lithium battery, carry out a few complete charge cycles to calibrate it properly. Never puncture or bend the battery, and never use a swollen cell. Moderate heat during soldering and careful handling prevent damage to neighbouring tracks.
