Description
The power IC for iPhone 11 Pro is an electronic component that manages power distribution inside the device. It helps regulate the voltage sent to the different parts of the motherboard and takes part in charging the battery. When it fails, you may see a device that no longer switches on, will not charge, restarts unexpectedly or overheats around the board. Reference 6840 is a compatible part, made by a third party, designed to replace the current component.
Before any work, cut the power, unplug the charger and, if the device allows it, disconnect the battery. Work on a clean, anti-static surface with suitable tweezers and soldering station, making sure the board is held firmly. Note the current component and its orientation before removing it, as a wrong direction can damage the board.
After fitting, check carefully for short circuits and overflowing solder before reconnecting the battery. At first power-on, watch the device's temperature and stay alert to any unusual behaviour. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and never puncture, crush or bend it.
