Description
The power supply IC, also called the power management IC, is an electronic component found on the motherboard of many devices. It regulates the voltage and current sent to the various components and manages battery charging. On a iPhone 14 Pro Max, a faulty IC can cause the phone to stop switching on, shut down suddenly, fail to charge or overheat abnormally.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It replaces the damaged IC after desoldering, which requires a hot air station, a suitable soldering station and good skill with fine components. Before any work, disconnect the battery, work on an anti-static surface and avoid excessive heat around the board so as not to damage the neighbouring tracks.
After fitting, carefully inspect the solder joints under a microscope and test charging over several cycles before putting the device back into service. If the battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture or bend it.
