Description
The power management IC is an electronic component found on the motherboard of some devices, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max. It manages the distribution of power coming from the mains adapter or the battery to the various circuits of the device. When it fails, you may notice that the device no longer switches on, switches off at random, overheats abnormally or no longer charges properly.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party, and is offered for the variant intended for the European market. It is suitable for a motherboard repair carried out by someone comfortable with soldering and micro-electronics. Before any work, unplug the device, remove the battery if possible and work on an anti-static surface with an earthing wrist strap.
During replacement, take care with the moderate heat needed for desoldering so as not to damage the neighbouring tracks. After fitting, check the solder joints carefully under a microscope, then run several full charge cycles to verify the stability of the power supply. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and do not use a swollen battery any more.
