Description
The power supply IC iPhone Air (Ref. 59367A1) is an integrated circuit that regulates the voltage delivered to the various components of the device. When it weakens or fails, you may notice a device that no longer starts, switches off unexpectedly, no longer charges properly, or overheats abnormally on the board. This compatible part is offered to replace a faulty chip on a iPhone Air, for a repair carried out by a private individual.
Before you start, cut the power, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, anti-static surface. An anti-static wrist strap reduces the risk of destroying sensitive components. Heat the area with a hot air station at a moderate temperature, taking care not to overheat the neighbouring components, and remove the chip carefully. Check that the new component is correctly oriented before soldering it.
After fitting, carefully inspect the solder joints with a magnifier and check for short circuits before reconnecting the battery. If the battery is swollen, do not use it. Then carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to check that the power supply works properly.
