Description
This charging IC is an electronic component that manages the battery power supply when the device is plugged into the mains. It regulates the current and voltage sent to the battery, which allows stable charging and protects the battery from overcharging. For the Galaxy S22+, this compatible part can replace a faulty charging IC, whose typical failures are no charging, very slow charging or a device that switches off when plugged in.
Before you start, prepare a clean, well-lit workspace, with an anti-static mat if possible, and suitable tools. Disconnect the battery before any work on the flex cables, and never puncture or bend a lithium battery. If the battery is swollen, stop using it. Work without forcing and keep the heat moderate if you need to solder.
Once the assembly is complete, check the operation before closing the device. Connect the charger and check that the charging icon appears and that the battery charges correctly. On first use, carry out a few full charge cycles to let the battery stabilise, then monitor the temperature of the device.
