Description
The charging IC is an electronic component located on the motherboard. It manages the battery power supply when the device is plugged into the mains: it regulates the current and voltage sent to the battery so it charges safely. This compatible part for the Galaxy S24+ lets you replace a faulty chip.
A faulty charging IC often shows up as a device that no longer charges, charges very slowly, or switches off while plugged in. Before you start, switch off the device, unplug the charger and work on a clean, dry surface. Use an anti-static wrist strap or regularly touch an earthed metal surface to avoid electrostatic discharge. A compatible part may show slight differences from the current part: check that it matches your model before soldering.
Once the chip is fitted, carefully inspect the solder joints under a magnifier, then reconnect the battery. Do not puncture or bend the battery, and never use a swollen battery. Carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles while monitoring the temperature: it should stay moderate. If the device heats up abnormally, disconnect it immediately.
