Description
The charging IC is a small integrated circuit located on the device's motherboard. On a iPad 4 (2012), it manages power supply to the battery when the phone is connected to mains or a USB port. It regulates current and voltage to charge the battery gradually and safely.
When it fails, the phone may stop charging, charge very slowly, or show a charge that stops for no apparent reason.
