Description
The charging IC is a small electronic circuit that manages the power supplied to the battery when the device is plugged into the mains. It regulates the current and voltage sent to the battery, so that it charges without overheating or being overcharged. When it fails, the device may no longer charge, charge very slowly or switch off at a low battery level. This compatible part is designed to replace the current component on the iPhone 13 Pro model, without any change to the rest of the board.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery before working on the board. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat or wrist strap, to protect the components from static electricity. Use moderate heat when desoldering and avoid forcing the circuit tracks.
After fitting, check the connection of the charging connector and make sure there is no visible short circuit. Put the battery back in place, then carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to check correct operation. If the battery heats up abnormally or becomes deformed, stop immediately and do not use it any more.
