Description
The charging IC is an electronic circuit that manages the power supply to the battery when the device is connected to the mains or to a USB cable. It regulates current and voltage, and protects the battery while charging. On a iPhone 15 Pro, a faulty charging IC can cause the phone to stop charging, charge very slowly, or switch off as soon as the cable is unplugged. This compatible part replaces the current component to restore charging.
Before you start, switch off the device and disconnect the battery before working on flex cables or connectors. Work on a clean surface at room temperature, and protect the components from static electricity, for example with an anti-static wrist strap. Do not bend or puncture the battery, and never use a swollen battery: it must be set aside and handled with care.
After fitting, check that the device starts and that charging is detected. For a battery, carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to let the system stabilise, and monitor heat: it should remain moderate while charging.
