Description
The charging IC iPhone 7 Plus is a small integrated circuit that manages the power supply to the battery when the device is plugged into the mains. It regulates the current and voltage sent to the battery, which protects the cells from overcharging and allows correct charging. This part is used to replace a faulty charging IC on a iPhone 7 Plus: if the device no longer charges, overheats abnormally while charging or shuts down suddenly despite a charged battery, it is often the cause. It is a compatible part made by a third party, and its 9-pin version must match that of your board.
Before any work, switch off the device and disconnect the battery. Work on a clean surface, protecting yourself from static electricity where possible. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and do not use a swollen cell. Moderate heat is enough for desoldering: avoid overheating the board.
After fitting, check the solder joints and the absence of short circuits before reconnecting the battery. Carry out a few full charge and discharge cycles to let the system adjust. If the device does not behave as expected, reconnect the battery only after a further check.
