Description
The charging IC, also known as the charge management circuit, is an electronic component on the motherboard that regulates the current sent to your device's battery. On a iPhone 8 Plus, it controls voltage and current during charging, then cuts or adjusts the power supply once the battery is full. Reference of this part: U3300 / SN2501.
A faulty charging IC often shows up as a phone that no longer charges, overheats abnormally when the cable is plugged in, or whose charging stops at random. This part is a compatible version made by a third party: it performs the same function, but it is not an original part, and compatibility depends on your exact model.
Before any work, switch off the device and disconnect the battery. Take care of static electricity with an antistatic wrist strap and work on a clean surface. After reassembly, connect a good-quality charger and check charging over several full cycles to make sure the battery fills correctly. If the battery swells or gets very hot, stop immediately.
