Description
This charging IC is an electronic component that controls the incoming power when you plug the charger into your iPhone Air. It regulates the voltage and current sent to the battery, which protects the device while it charges. When it is faulty, the phone may stop charging, charge very slowly, or only switch on with certain cables. This part is a compatible make, produced by a third party, and matches the reference CBTL1701B shown in the title.
Before you start, switch off the device, disconnect the battery and work on a clean, clear surface. Use antistatic tweezers or an earthed wrist strap to avoid discharging the components. Heat the area gently when desoldering, as excessive heat can damage the neighbouring tracks on the board. Never puncture, bend or apply pressure to the lithium battery.
After fitting, check the solder joints carefully under a magnifier, then reconnect the battery before plugging in the charger. Run a few full charge cycles so the system returns to stable operation. If the battery looks swollen or deformed, stop using it immediately.
