The charging IC is an integrated circuit that manages the battery power supply when you plug your iPhone SE (2022) into the mains. It regulates current and voltage, and protects the battery against overcharging. When it is faulty, the device may stop charging, charge erratically, overheat or switch off suddenly even with a charged battery.

Before you start, switch the device off, unplug it from any power source and work at a clean, anti-static station. Work with moderate heat and suitable tools so you do not damage the neighbouring tracks.
After fitting, connect the device to a good-quality charger and watch the first few minutes: it must not heat up abnormally. Then run a few full charge and discharge cycles to check that the battery fills properly. Never puncture or bend the lithium battery, and stop using any swollen battery.
