Description
The Pixel 3a charging IC is the component that manages power to the battery when you plug in the cable. It regulates current and voltage, and distributes energy between the battery and the rest of the device. This part is supplied with its flex cable, the small flexible ribbon that connects the chip to the motherboard.
If your Pixel 3a no longer charges, charges very slowly, overheats while charging or only switches on with one specific cable, the charging IC may be the cause. Check the cable, the adapter and the port first before drawing any conclusion. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static mat if possible, and disconnect the battery before touching any flex cables. Never bend the flex cable and do not force the connectors.
Once the assembly is complete, reconnect the battery and test charging over several full cycles to make sure it is stable. Monitor the temperature of the device. If a battery is swollen, stop using it and do not puncture it.
