Description
This power management IC, referenced PMIC and SM5720, is an electronic component designed for the motherboard of the Galaxy S8 Plus. It regulates the voltage sent to the device's various circuits and takes part in charging the battery. When it is faulty, you may notice a phone that no longer switches on, irregular charging, sudden shutdowns or a battery that drains abnormally fast. This part is a compatible version, made by a third party.
Before any work on the Galaxy S8 Plus, switch off the device and disconnect the battery. Work on a clean surface, with an anti-static station and moderate heat when desoldering. Avoid touching the component's pins unnecessarily. Once fitting is complete, check charging on mains power, then carry out several full charge and discharge cycles to check stability.
