Description
The Face ID chip iPhone 12 mini is an electronic component that forms part of the device's facial recognition system. It connects the front-facing sensors, such as the infrared camera and the dot projector, to the processor that verifies the user's identity. When it is faulty, facial recognition may stop working, an error message may appear, or face unlock may be switched off for no apparent reason. This part is a compatible version made by a third party, offered as a replacement for the current part of a iPhone 12 mini model.
Before you start, switch the device off completely and disconnect the battery to avoid any short circuit. Work on a clean, flat surface, ideally with an anti-static mat, to protect the chip from static electricity. Use suitable tools, do not force connectors or ribbon cables, and keep the small screws in a separate container. Do not bend or puncture the battery, and stop using it if it is swollen.
After fitting, reconnect the battery and start the device to check that your face is detected and that the sensors respond. If anything is abnormal, switch the device off and check the connections before trying again.
