Description
This Face ID chip is an electronic component for the facial recognition module of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It is part of the assembly that lets you unlock the device with your face and authenticate secure payments. When it is faulty, facial recognition may stop working, show an error or be unavailable, while the rest of the phone remains usable.
This is a compatible part, made by a third-party manufacturer. It is offered as a lower-cost repair option, without claiming to be identical to the original part. Before any work, switch off the iPhone 12 Pro Max and disconnect the battery to avoid short circuits. Work on a clean surface, protected from static electricity, ideally with an anti-static wrist strap. Do not bend the ribbon cables and handle the connectors with care.
After fitting, check in the settings that facial recognition works before closing the device completely. If a swollen or damaged battery is present, do not use it and never puncture it. Carry out a few full charge cycles to check the stability of the assembly.
