Description
This Face ID chip is an electronic component for the facial recognition module of the iPhone 12 Pro. It is part of the system that projects and analyses the infrared elements used to unlock the device by face. When it is faulty, face unlock may stop working, or the Face ID error message may appear regularly.
This is a compatible part, made by a third party. It is offered as an affordable alternative for replacement by a private individual who wishes to repair their own device. Before any work, switch off the iPhone 12 Pro, disconnect the battery if the procedure requires it, and work on a clean surface with an anti-static wrist strap or at least by regularly touching a metal earth.
After fitting, check that the module is correctly recognised before closing the device completely. Test face unlock in several lighting conditions, then set up facial recognition again. Handle the ribbon cables with care and never force a connector.
