Description
This Face ID chip is an electronic component designed to be soldered onto the motherboard of the iPhone 13 mini. It is part of the facial recognition module and contributes to the operation of face unlock. When it is faulty, Face ID unlock may stop responding or show an error, and the feature may be unavailable.
This part is a compatible version, made by a third party. It lets you replace the faulty component at a lower cost for people who repair their own device. Before any work, switch off the iPhone 13 mini, disconnect the battery and work on a clean surface, limiting static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap.
After fitting, check that facial recognition and the neighbouring sensors work properly. Clean the solder joints carefully and avoid excessive heat on the surrounding components. Once the repair is complete, test the device several times before daily use.
