Description
This IC chip, reference U3400, is an integrated circuit dedicated to managing wireless charging for the iPhone 11 Pro. It is part of the chain that receives the magnetic field from the inductive charger and turns it into current usable by the battery. When it fails, the phone may no longer charge when placed on a charging pad, may overheat while charging or may show an unrecognised power supply. This part is a compatible version made by a third party and is an economical option for a repair at home.
Before replacing it, switch off the device completely, disconnect it and work on a clean, flat surface. Protect the components from static electricity with an anti-static wrist strap. Always disconnect the battery before working on the flex cables and handle it carefully: do not puncture it, do not bend it, and never use a swollen battery. Heat the solder joints at a moderate temperature so you do not damage the tracks next to the current part.
After fitting, reconnect the battery, then run several full charge cycles to check that wireless charging works properly. Monitor the temperature of the device during the first tests and stop if it heats up unusually.
